The Conseil des Industries Durables (Council of Sustainable Industries – CID) is one of the recognized authorities that will ensure the integrity, transparency and consistency of sustainable development within companies and industries for current and future generations.
They put forth their ECORESPONSIBLETM PROGRAM, which notably includes: a 4-level ECORESPONSIBLETM Certification, an ECOLEADERSHIPTM Methodology and the following pilot projects:
ECORESPONSIBLETM Attestation – ECODESIGNED Packaging and
ECORESPONSIBLETM Attestation – ECODESIGNED Product, in order to:
- Make a sustainable development approach and certification process available to businesses and stop “greenwashing” and self-reporting;
- Support the sustainable development and certification approach, and make expert resources in the field available to businesses;
- Highlight the main governance in sustainable development management for certified businesses or the certification process.
Support directors in implementing sustainable development in their businesses and, when needed (for upstream and downstream businesses), ensure leadership in their respective fields, thereby turning sustainable development into a business development tool.
